Il tatuaggio è parte di me. Un'unione ormai indissolubile. Tanti diranno, "è la moda", in pochi ne capiranno il valore, profondo, di quello che è prima di tutto, una scelta di vita.

Per la cronaca, sono sociologa, insegno all'università e lavoro in televisione (TFM, più precisamente, la televisione dell'artista senegalese di fama internazionale, Youssou'N'Dour) dove conduco due trasmissioni (Seetu Bi e Yeewu Leen). Non ho mai subito discriminazioni rispetto al fatto di essere tatuata, almeno non sul posto di lavoro ma a livello sociale molte ancore le idee categorizzanti che identificano il mondo dei tatuati. La prova è che quando dico che insegno, lo stupore di chi mi sta di fronte è tanto, come se una donna tatuata dovesse essere a prescindere "altro" ma non sicuramente un dottore di ricerca. Come scrisse Voltaire in Maometto ossia il fanatismo, "i pregiudizi, amico, sono il re del volgo".

"Piove, governo ladro!" mai esclamazione fu più appropriata per questa giornata. Ebbene sì, siamo in Africa ma non non arranco nel desero alla ricerca di pozzi d'acqua. Per essere onesti, la notte dormo ancora con il lenzuolo. Ci scrolleremo mai dalle spalle lo stereotipo imperante che vuole fare di un continente un unico, immenso, grande paese?

Le mie vacanze scorrono lente e pigre, tra shopping ed uscite con gli amici. Vi lascio aspettare ancora un pochino per i suggerimenti sui locali più trendy della zona, oggi si parlerà ancora di vestiti. Mannaggia.

A Dakar il più grande centro commerciale si chiama Sea Plaza e si trova lungo la strada che costeggia l'oceano e che dall'aeroporto va verso il centro città, la meglio conosciuta: Corniche. Un piacere per gli occhi, specialmente verso sera quando il traffico diminuisce.

Sebbene i prezzi non siano accessibili a tutti, si possono trovare parecchi negozi interessanti: Mango, Benetton, Jennifer, Guess, Aldo tanto per citarne alcuni ed in questo periodo di saldi vale la pensa farci un giro.

Da Mango un tripudio di short di tutti i generi, taglie e colori con prezzi scontati che vanno dai dieci ai venti euro.

E chi ha la coscia importante? Questione amletica e qualche risposta: il coraggio di Beth Ditto (Gossip), la strafottenza di Beyoncé o l'iscrizione immediata ad un corso di acqua gym.

 Ma come rinunciare ad outfit così?
